New activities are added throughout the year but below is a list of our main events

Fundraisers:

Pink the Rink  Started in 2009, we team up with the University of Wisconsin Superior men's and women's hockey teams for an annual fundraiser for breast cancer.  The UWS hockey teams wear pink uniforms for one scheduled game in February.  Following the game, the jerseys are auctioned off.  All profits go towards treating and defeating breast cancer.  Click here to see the Pink the Rink page

Gitchee Gumee Brewfest  Started in 1998, this brewfest has grown into the largest brewfest in the Northland.  Held in April at Wessman Arena, this annual event has sold out in the past 5 years.  Participants can sample over 100 different brews from over 30 different brewers.  All profits go back into the community.  Click here to see the Gitchee Gumee Brewfest Website

Jaycees Golf Scramble Started in 2005, our annual Golf Scramble at Nemadji Golf Course continues to grow.  Held in August, we have strived to stay focused on putting together a fun and affordable golf scramble - and it's been working.  Our golf scramble is followed by a dinner and silent auction.  The past 4 years, we have teamed up with Superior Area Hockey Association with all the profits going to the scholarship fund or providing starter equipment bundles.  Click here to see the Golf Scramble page

Community Service Projects:

Pitch, Hit and Run  Every May, we host a local competition for the MLB sponsored baseball skills competition for the local youth to participate in.  The winners of the local competition are invited to the regional competition.

Jaycees Sandbox Fill  With the help of local businesses and the City of Superior, every June the Jaycees fill children's sandboxes with fresh clean sand for them to enjoy at no cost.

Adopt-a-Highway  The Jaycees sponsor a two-mile stretch of Highway 2 between Wentworth and Poplar.  Twice a year we go out and pick up the trash on the sides of the busy highway, followed by pizza and refreshments at Rapids Riverside.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing  We ring the bells twice a year, once in July and once in December to raise money for the local Salvation Army.

Punt, Pass and Kick  Every August, we team up with the Superior Youth Football Program and host a local competition for the NFL sponsored football skills competition for the local youth to participate in.  The winners of the local competition are invited to the regional competition.

Community Awards  Every year, the Jaycees present three awards to members of the community at the Chamber's annual dinner.  We present awards for the Boss of the Year, Outstanding Young Superiorite and Humanitarian of the Year.  Click here to see the Community Awards page

Social Activities:

Business After Five  We co-sponsor a Chamber BAF event each year in December.  A night of socializing and networking while collecting toys to kick off the local Toys for Tots toydrive in Superior.

Dragonboats  Every August, the Jaycees put together a team to participate in the Lake Superior Dragonboat Festival held by the local Rotary.  We have a great time at the event either under our canopy or paddling in the festival.  In 2009, we earned the gold medal in the Bronze Division at the festival.

Progressive Dinners  We have appetizers at one house, dinner at another, desserts & drinks at another...you get the idea, a lot of fun with fellow Jaycees

Golf Skills Clinics  Throughout the summer, we offer golf skills clinics at various times to our members.  Nemadji Golf Course offers the course and instructors to teach driving, pitching and putting.
